Real cotton wicks the sweat off a cold glass and holds it in the weave — so the ring never reaches the wood. Cork and plastic just push the puddle around.
Worked in one continuous, double-thick spiral. That’s why it lies dead flat and stays flat — no curling edges, no glued backing to peel in the wash.
