Emmett's Iron Carnivorous Plant - Garden Decor
- Hand-painted, three-layer finish. Horsehair brush, sea sponge, bare fingertip. Not dip-coated, not sprayed. You see the difference the moment morning light hits it.
- Three heads, all mid-snap. Cole's design brief: "not shy ones, loud ones." Every mouth pulled wide open — a moment, not a still life.
- Real iron. Not plastic, not aluminum. Stands through winters, storms, and sprinklers. Develops a soft patina over the seasons — Emmett considers that the point.
- 25.2" tall — knee-to-thigh height. Big enough to see from the driveway and stop people on the sidewalk. Not so big it swallows your bed.
- 5-second install. Double-prong ground stake, cut from the same iron. Push it into the soil and walk away. No tools, no drilling, no concrete.
- Final collection. No apprentice. No reorders. The technique retires with him on September 30.
Why no factory can copy this finish
The silhouette isn't the point — silhouettes get copied. The paint is the point. Each piece gets three layers, three tools: a wide horsehair brush for the deep forest-green base, a natural sea sponge for the mottled mid-coat that makes the leaves look alive — and for the mouths, no tool at all. The burgundy inside each open mouth is rubbed in with a bare fingertip.
"You can't get that look with a brush. Has to be a finger. That's what makes them look wet."
— EMMETT ON HIS SIGNATURE TECHNIQUEWhat owners say actually happens
The mail carrier who's said four words in six years suddenly has something to say every Tuesday. Neighbors cross the lawn to ask where you got it.
Kids don't walk past it. They look into the mouths, ask whether it moves, then insist on naming it. Then they check on it every visit.
Nothing to inflate, nothing to take down in November. It's spooky enough for October and charming enough for the other eleven months.

Emmett's 100% money-back guarantee
Stake it in your front bed, by the porch, along the walk. Live with it for a month. If it doesn't earn its spot, send it back for a full refund — no questions asked.
Six years he made them quietly, one at a time, for people who found him.
These are the last ones he'll paint. ✦
Because each piece is finished by hand, the final product may vary slightly from photos.

Message from the Artist:
After years of making things by hand, our workshop is closing. These are the last pieces we'll ever ship. Every item on this page was made slowly, carefully, and with more love than any factory could replicate. Nothing rushed. Nothing outsourced. Just real craft from real hands.
We're proud of every single one. We hope they find good homes.
When they're gone, they're gone — and so are we.

What Emmett's customers are saying
Bought it for Halloween. Kept it because the grandkids love it. Now it's just part of the front bed. Six months in and the paint still looks like it was applied yesterday.

Put mine out for Halloween two years ago and never took it down. Neighbors come to the fence to look. Paint on it still looks good after two full Ohio winters.

Did not regret this for a second since getting it, always gets people looking and asking where i got this - not your usual garden decor ! :D

Bought one for my father's 68th birthday. He is not an easy man to shop for. But he put it in the bed by his front porch that afternoon and was genuinely happy with it.

I had a plastic flamingo in the front bed for three years. Threw it out the day this arrived. There's no comparison — the weight, the way the light catches the paint, the way it stays put in a wind. This is what garden iron ought to feel like.
