Poured and cured from Roz's own moulds, thick enough that a hard frost does not touch it. Injection-moulded pumpkins crack the first cold night and cannot hold a repair. "I still get pumpkins back for touch-ups after fifteen years. The shell's never the problem."

Every lantern is hand-cast and painted in three coats by Roz, so the shading and the face vary a little from one to the next. That is a normal part of hand-painted work rather than a fault, and it is the reason people buy these instead of the moulded ones. Similar-looking pumpkin lights turn up on marketplaces from time to time, but they aren't from Roz's barn and they don't use her flicker mechanism or her resin process. Stock is only what she has finished, and once this final batch sells through there won't be another.
